Time to get that crypto investment plan going. We’ve got you covered with our Beginners’ Guide to managing your Digital Assets.
What money should I be using to invest?
To figure out how to budget your investment, let’s start by organizing your money into three different categories:
- Living Expense: Lay all your expenses out, from credit cards, mortgage, car payments, electricity bills, insurance premiums, and more, to spending on dining out, cafes and shopping.
- Emergency Funds: This money is reserved for unplanned expenses, which should not be spent unless you are faced with a financial emergency i.e. car repairs, medical bills, or a loss of income.
- Investment Funds: This will include any money or extra income you have left after fulfilling your obligations to the previous two categories.
Why can’t I invest using money from categories 1 & 2?
Always keep in mind the golden rule of investing: invest only with money you can afford to lose. Make sure that you have enough money to take care of your needs in the first two categories first. Investing in any market can be volatile, and a sudden downturn could mean you don’t have sufficient funds for emergencies or living expenses if you’re investing beyond your means. It is also important to note that digital assets often take time to develop, and different projects can grow at different rates. Some tokens are consistent gainers, while others can fluctuate wildly with frequent growth spikes within a shorter timeframe. Keep in mind that the Digital Asset market is still growing as a whole and that any investments made should not be under any time constraints or restrictions to maximize potential profits.
